I went to Bali in September 2011, and visited this area called Ubud, home to so many lifelong painters and artistes, spanning across generations. There was this street, lined with many small galleries/studios, where the painter sells his own paintings. Some of the galleries I went to, have a small room inside the shop where the painter works. These are very simple, humble galleries, you'd never feel intimidated or too poor to walk in and have a look around. But they were filled by loads and loads of art. The paintings weren't overly expensive too, anyone can buy them, not just rich collectors. I was just inspired by the whole place and setup.
That is my goal someday, to have a simple gallery+studio space of my own. A place where anyone can walk in, have a look around, and be able to buy a piece without remortgaging the house. But until I can afford an actual shoplot, or move to Ubud, this online version will do.
Mostly I sell some of my paintings here, with more items to be added in the future. Everything in this store is lovingly and painstakingly drawn/painted by me.
